lines around my eyes
I’m 24 and I’m beginning to see fine lines around my eyes. I’m very concerned about this. My mom always told me that it is never to early to purchase creme for wrinkles. What do you recommend I use to reduce the fine lines?
Fine lines and crow’s feet around the eyes is usually one of the first signs of aging, and don’t we hate to see it! Women today spend thousands of dollars every year on eye creams to try to get rid of those wrinkles, but most of them just don’t work.
Your best bet in the fight against wrinkles is preventing them in the first place, with daily use of a broad spectrum sunscreen containing zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, or avobenzone. Damage from the sun is the main cause for the skin to wrinkle, so if you prevent the damage, you can prevent the wrinkles. Simple, but is there anything we can do to minimize the wrinkles we already have now? Yes, and no.
Basic eye creams and gels contain moisturizing ingredients that can temporarily plump up wrinkles so they look smoother, but the effect often doesn’t last when you wash the cream off or don’t apply it every day. If you use an eye cream every day to moisturize those fine lines, your appearance can look better while the cream is on the skin, but that’s all they can do. For more long-term results, you can consider using a retinol (derivative of vitamin A) cream.
Retinol creams like Avon Retinol Recovery Complex, RoC Retinol Actif Pur, Estee Lauder Diminish, Alpha Hydrox Retinol Night ResQ, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream (just to name a few) can help with wrinkles caused by sun damage by exfoliating the damaged cells and stimulating new, healthy cells to be generated at a faster rate, so the lines fill in a bit with new, plumper cells. These treatments are no miracle cure, but they can help make the skin look a bit smoother for most people.
